Restaurant: Outback Grill Davao

Outback grill is a restaurant in Davao City located at Bacaca Road, Davao City. It dubs itself as  a place filled with fun, friends, entertainment, and incredible food! They are open daily from 5PM to 12 Midnight.

Outback Grill is home to one of the best barbecue and burgers in the city. They offer different type of food which will surely satisfy one's gastronomic cravings. During our visit at the restaurant, they served us with their signature dishes. Some of my favorites were their Goliath Burger, Pancit Buko and grilled seafood. They taste very delicious that you want more in every bite.

Christmas Spirit in Davao City

The annual Christmas display at Mana Davao has not been put up this year as they decided to donate the budget for it to the typhoon Yolanda victims. It was something the people of Davao look up to during Christmas season.


This year the city hall has its own Christmas display and it's a good one. The city hall is covered with colorful lights which make it stand out at night. Here's some of the photos I took:

Davao City : D' Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park

D' Leonor Inland Resort and Adventure Park is a 26 hectares property situated in Purok 5, Barangay Communal, Cabantian, Davao City. It is more or less 15-30 minutes away from downtown proper by car or taxi and is about 10 minutes away from the Davao International Airport.

The resort is famous for its world class wave pool and ranging river. D'Leonor Inland Resort also offers a variety of outdoor activities such as zipline, hanging bridge, fishing and a lot more.


Samal : SECDEA Beach Resort

Secdea Beach Resort is situated in Barangay San Isidro, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal in Davao del Norte. The resort is proud to showcase its beach front cottages which offer a great view of the ocean. 

The Resorts amenities include a private bar, a quaint little gym, infinity restaurant, infinity pool, fishing lagoon and a basketball and tennis courts.


Maragusan : Marangig Falls

Marangig Falls serves as a jump-off for those wanting to climb Mount Candalaga. Marangig Falls is located in Barangay New Albay in Maragusan some 30 minutes away by van from the town proper. The van will not be able to go near the foot of the waterfalls, so visitors will have to trek for about 10 minutes or so to see Marangig Waterfalls up close.


Tagum : Carroza y Pintados de Carabao

One of this year's highlights of the UGMAD Festival was the Carroza y Pintados de Carabao or the Carabao Painting Competition. Eleven carabaos from different barangays participated in the carabao painting contest.


Nabunturan : Rice Puto and Bibingka

Nabunturan has one of the most tasty rice puto and bibingka in the province of Compostela Valley. One can stop by the stores along the Maharlika Highway in Nabunturan to taste the town's favorite kakanin. The most prominent store is the Axl Dave Bibingka Specialty and Restaurant. They sell bibingka for P20 per pack (2 pcs) and puto for P65 per pack (6 pcs).

Awao Falls is located in Barangay Awao in the town of Monkayo, Compostela Valley Province. It is approximately 30 minutes away from the town proper and is reachable by skylab/habal-habal (motorcycle). The road from the town center to Barangay Awao is rough and rocky.

Commuters Guide Davao : Davao International Airport to Ecoland Bus Terminal

Directions going to Ecoland Bus Terminal from Davao International Airport and Vice Versa:

The entrance/exit of the Davao International airport from the passenger terminal is very close so it will not take you more than 5 minutes to walk to reach the national highway. Once you are in the national high-way, cross the street and wait for buses with signboard  Maa/Ecoland. These buses will go directly to Ecoland bus terminal with less travel time compared to taking jeepneys. Buses like Bachelor Express and Del Norte Express are plying this route and frequencies are every 30 minutes or less. The fare is P15 for this journey. Commuters Guide Davao : Davao International Airport to Downtown Davao City

Directions going to Downtown Davao City from Davao International Airport 

The entrance/exit of the Davao International airport from the passenger terminal is very close so it will not take you more than 5 minutes to walk to reach the national highway. Once you are in the national high-way, cross the street and wait for jeepneys going to either Bankerohan or G-Mall, Bajada, Abreeza via Buhangin. The fare would depend on where you will go. Just ask the driver and he'll surely tell you the exact and the right fare for the journey. If you are going to MyHotel, the jeepneys are actually passing through the area of San Pedro Street. 

Davao City : Park Inn by Radisson

Tagum City's UGMAD Festival 2013

UGMAD (Uma, Gamiton, Mag-uuma Atong Dayegon) Festival is an annual celebration of Tagum City to acknowledge the importance of the farmers contribution to the society. It is a month-long celebration which will start on August 28, 2013  and will end on September 22, 2013. The festival will not just feature the farmers but also the fishermen and the livestock caretakers which make it more interesting.

New Corella : Panas Waterfalls

One of New Corella's tourist attractions is the Panas Waterfalls located in Barangay Carcor. It is a multi-tiered waterfalls with cold water and a turquoise basin. It is considered to be one of the most visited eco-tourism site in the province of Davao del Norte.





How to Get to Panas Waterfalls?
Panas Waterfalls is located in Barangay Carcor which is about 30 minutes away from the town proper. Half of the road going to Panas waterfalls is cemented while the other half is a little rough. The site is accessible to any two or four-wheel vehicles.

Fare for the habal-habal ride is P30 one way if you are alone. Should be cheaper per person if you have a companion.

Tip:
If you are commuting and do not plan of staying there for a long period of time, advise you driver to wait for you as it is quite difficult to get a ride going back to the town proper.

Lon Wa Buddhist Temple

The Lon Wa Buddhist Temple is one attraction you should not miss while in Davao. The temple is one of the biggest Buddhist temple in the Philippines and is the largest in the entire Mindanao. It is situated just a few minutes away from the city center.




How to Get There Lon Wa Buddhist Temple?

The temple is situated along J.P. Cabaguio Avenue in Agdao District. From the city center you can take a jeep going to Sasa/Lanang. Just tell the jeepney driver to drop you at crossing Cabaguio. The temple sits just a few distance from the main road.

Admission to the temple is free and it is usually open daily between 7:30Am to 4:30PM.

Davao Chinatown

Davao's Chinatown is another interesting place to explore while in Davao City. The city's Chinatown is marked with four archways : The Arch of Prosperity in Uyanguren; The Arch of Unity near Magsaysay Park; The Arch of Peace in Sta. Ana Avenue and the Arch of Friendship near the Jones Circle.

How to get there?

Maragusan is a first class municipality in the province of Compostela Valley. It is dubbed as the summer capital of the Davao region due to its cold temperature. It is also ho around 30 enchanting waterfalls.


How to Get to Maragusan 
There are a lot of options to go to Maragusan. You can take a van (Gaisano Mall) or bus (Ecoland Bus Terminal) going to Maragusan. Taking a van is the most convenient way as the travel time is lesser than the bus. You can also take a northbound bus and alight in either Tagum City or Nabunturan and take another bus from there going to Maragusan. travel time is around 3-5 hours. The road is quite rough so be careful when taking your own vehicle.

How to go to Tagum City
From Davao City, take a northbound bus going to Butuan, Mati and all others except those buses going to Santo Tomas as they are not passing Tagum City. You can either take the bus from Ecoland Bus Terminal or from the national highway. Fare for air-conditioned bus is P120 for about almost an hour ride.

Sto. Tomas is second district of Province of Davao del Norte. It is bounded in the North by the Municipalities of Kapalong and Talaingod, in the East by the Municpality of Asuncion, in the West by Davao City and in the South by the Municipality of Braulio E. Dujali and City of Panabo.

How to go to Santo Tomas
From the Tagum City, Sto. Tomas is about 30kms away or about a little over an hour ride by public jeepneys.  You may either take a jeep via Kinamayan route or bus liner via Carmen route. From Carmen, there are already a lot of buses and jeepneys going to Santo Tomas.

From Davao City it is approximately 63kms or about two ahours by bus or private car.  Bus liners are stationed at Davao City Overland Transportation Terminal in Ecoland, Davao City.  Bus companies have non-air and air-conditioned units that gives added comfort to passengers to and from Davao City.

The municipality of New Corella is known as the "water basin capital of Davao del Norte" as it is abundant with less explored springs. The town offers a number of ecotourism attractions like pools, caves, water terraces and nature trails. 

New Corella is an agricultural town so you will see rice fields and banana plantations and other crops.

From Davao City, take a bus or van going to Tagum City. Travel time is alsmost 2 hours by bus and fare is P120 for air-conditioned buses. From Tagum Integrated Bus Terminal, take a jeep or bus going to New Corella and alight in the Poblacion/public market area. Travel time is around 45 minutes and fare is P30. The municipality of Carmen was once a battlefield. The town's capital was the center of the Battle of Ising in 1945 during the World War II where the Filipino soldiers fought and drove away the Japanese army.

The town has a huge production of fresh bananas and pomelos.

The town of Braulio E. Dujali was once a part of Carmen and Panabo City. The town boasts of its aquatic resources mostly freshwater catch. It is considered an aqua-tourism site of the province of Davao del Norte.


How to go to Braulio E. Dujali?
From Davao City, take a bus or van going to Tagum City. Travel time is almost 2 hours by bus and fare is around P65 non-air. Tell the driver to drop you at crossing Tuganay in the town of Carmen, then take a jeep or habal-habal going to Dujali and alight in the Poblacion/public market area.

How to go to Asuncion?
From Davao City, take a bus or van going to Tagum City. Travel time is almost 2 hours by bus and fare is P120 for air-conditioned buses. From Tagum Integrated Bus Terminal, take a jeep going to Asuncion and alight in the Poblacion/public market area. Travel time is around 30 minutes and fare is P20. The mode of transportation within town are tricycles and motorcycles (habal-habal).

How to Get There?

There are jeeps, buses and L-300 vans going to Calinan District from Davao City proper. The most convenient way of shared public transport is by bus or van.
