The gift of fragrance & grooming from Rocky’s

Are you still looking for that holiday gift for the special man in your life? How about the gift of scent and grooming from Rocky’s Barbershop

Rocky’s launched its new line of fragrances for men this year. As tribute to the year the first Rocky’s branch in Victoria Plaza Mall, it named its premier scent 1996. I was intrigued when it first came out so personally tried it. I basically like it's fresh and sporty scent, plus it's so affordable!

10 Adventures You Shouldn’t Miss Out in Davao

It is no longer a secret that Davao is just the perfect destination to visit when you are looking for a place that will feed your thirst for adventure. But when planning our vacation, all of us try to fit in as much activities and places to visit as we can in our itinerary but sometimes because of this we even get confused of what to include already.

To lessen the stress and the confusion for you,  I listed down the best adventures out there in Davao that you MUST try. This Davao tour is definitely going to be one for the books!

WHITE WATER RAFTING
As nerveracking as it may seem at first, once you are there attempting to water raft, you will continue to long for more time.  There is a thrill that you will get as the current tries to move you, as the rapids try to push you. If pushing yourself to the limits is what you want, then this is a must include activity on your list.

CLIMB MT. APO
The highest mountain found in the Philippines, why would you want to miss out on the opportunity on climbing it? Challenge yourself and see the wonderful view you will get when you reach the top, it is a view like no other. Another thing to cross out off your bucketlist!

SLIDE AT MAXIMA
If you want another water adventure, Maxima Aqua Fun is the place to go in Davao. Their waterslide is quite popular for a reason, it is because it may seem like “just another water slide” at first glance but it sure will get your adrenaline running once you take that slide.

SKYSWING AND SKY CYCLE AT EDEN
Looking for an opportunity where you can face your fear of heights? There is no better activity than the adventure offered at Eden Park in Davao, one of the best places to explore in Davao. Enjoy the view and the environment at Eden as you cycle and/or swing your way across the nature park. You might get a little cold feet at first but the entire view, I assure you, is worth it.

ZIPLINE AT ZIP City
Maybe you want something more heart thumping. Maybe that sky swing and the sky cycle is just not enough for you. There is no need to worry, the management takes proper care of the equipment. Just grit up and hold your breath because the scene is breathtaking.

DIVE AT TALICUD
There are many things to see in Davao, one of them is the treasure beneath the surface of the sea. It would definitely be a delight for you to see the famous and undeniably beautiful ecosystem found in Talicud island. Enjoy getting up close and personal with the fishes. Then you can just sit and relax after at the beach.

EXPLORE EPOL FALLS
If you are goping to see more magical and mystical places during your vacation, Epol Falls may just be the answer you are looking for. Epol falls is not entirely known to many visitors in Davao so visiting it would definitely be a peaceful experience. The cascading falls, the soothing cool water, and the uniquely formed rocks gives the entire falls an enchanted look.

CLIMB MT. TALOMO
Feeling adventurous? This may not be the highest mountain here in the Philippines but it sure is one of the most difficults climbs you will have in the country, even regular climbers have found this mountain quite a bit of a challenge to climb. But of course, nothing great comes easy, meaning once you get on top of that mountain, you will feel a sense of accomplishment for conquering such a difficult task.

EXPLORE SICAO FALLS
Another climb that you can include on your list. The great thing about exploring Sicao falls is that it is fairly easy to climb but at the same time, this falls is yet another place to experience something enchanting. The falls is definitely a picture perfect shot you can post anywhere.

SPELUNKING AT THE CATHEDRAL CAVE
Not everything beautiful is seen under a bright light, the cathedral cave in Davao gives you another interesting and unique experience of seeing something totally different from what you would usually associate with something wonderful. Spelunking at the cathedral cave is a famous activity because of its unique rock formations inside.

On your Davao vacation trip, ditch the usual spots and activities, and try out these not-so-popular but definitely heart thumping activities. Experience the best Davao tour!

Marco Polo Davao's Silk Road Iced Coffee

A few days ago, I, along with other bloggers and media friends participated in a one-of-a-kind experience at Marco Polo Davao. The hotel introduces the new Silk Road Iced Coffee to the members of the media and bloggers. Instead of the usual media launch, Marco Polo Davao came up with a fun event leading to the launch of the new product. It was like an amazing race where we had challenges and pit stops before the main event. It was fun and entertaining.

Created from overnight-infused coffee flavoured with cinnamon syrup and milk, the Iced Coffee consists of a blended frappuccino poured into a swirled, chocolate-glazed glass symbolising the roads well-travelled of the Silk Road. Topped with marshmallow, burnt gold-peaked meringues are flambée-finished by blow torch, emanating the sun-glinting mountains along the legendary route. The iced beverage will be presented with a fresh cookie smothering marshmallows and chocolate between Graham crackers, warmed to perfection, inviting guests to explore the history of the Silk Road.

“We are delighted to unveil the next in the series of our signature beverages for Marco Polo Hotels. The Silk Road Iced Coffee was created during a competitive contest of fabulously designed and deliciously different coffees originated by our General Managers. The combination of iced coffee and warmed cinnamon cookies will make it one of the most appealing and flavourful drinks for our savvy guests and connoisseurs of culture, said Mr Philippe Caretti, Vice President Operations, Wharf Hotels.

You can enjoy this new drink in any of Marco Polo Davao's restaurants and bars at Php260.00 nett.

Kadayawan 2017 Promotions : Rekado

When it comes to Filipino comfort food, there's one place that I can immediately think of - Rekado. The restaurant has an array of Pinoy dishes cooked like how mothers and grandmothers prepare it, with some recipes prepared with a twist to create a more flavorful taste.

I've been to Rekado several times and it never failed me. It's consistent when it comes to taste and service. I always have a delightful meal when I go there whether for lunch or dinner.

Another thing that I like about Rekado is they always offer something new to its diners. This Kadayawan season, Rekado came up with new comfort food entries on its menu.

“For the Kadayawan menu, we are bringing in the classic Filipino dishes,” said Chef Pauline Benedicto-Mallillin.
Chef Pauline Benedicto-Mallillin
A delicious new dish is added on the appetizer list— the Oyster Dinakdakan. It's deep-fried oyster meat tossed in a seasoned creamy dressing with onions and chilis dressing. This is my favorite! It's best paired with their kinilaw na malasugui to balance the taste and get away with the "umay" factor.
Kinilaw na Malasugui
Oyster Dinakdakan
Crispy Dinuguan with Chicharon and Burong Mangga is crispy yet tender pork belly on a rich stew. “We top our homemade burong mangga to balance the richness of this dish,” said the chef.
Crispy Dinuguan with Chicharon and Burong Mangga
Corned Beef and Bone Marrow Bulalo. The broth of this hearty dish is simmered for hours with aromatics and flavorful beef cuts. The corned beef is specially made for Rekado with no preservatives. This is served with a beautiful cut of bone marrow that is seasoned finely and oven baked.
Corned Beef and Bone Marrow Bulalo
With the Inihaw na Liempo, the pork belly is charcoal grilled to infuse smokiness, while brushing with a flavorful marinade until flavors are well incorporated.
Inihaw na Liempo
Chicken Adobo sa Gata. This all-time Filipino favorite is delicious in itself but the coconut milk takes this dish to another level by adding creaminess to the sauce. It's one of those times the diners will have to say, “Extra rice please!”
Chicken Adobo sa Gata
On Rekado’s Davao Seafood Platter are the treasures our waters so graciously provide: the tuna panga, bagaybay, bihod and imbao. These are marinated in a spice paste and barbecued with a special marinade.

“That’s six new dishes on Rekado’s menu starting this Kadayawan month, and we’re making these permanent entries on our menu,” said Chef Pauline, “And we’re cooking up more additions in the coming months.”

Aside from the delectable dishes mentioned above, we were also served with their home-made biko (rice cake) which became my instant favorite. I love how simple it was cooked and presented - just biko topped with latik and lunok. Simple yet delicious and satisfying.
Biko (Rice Cake)
As for the drinks, try their healthy fruit shakes - guyabano and avocado. I ordered the latter ans it was good - creamy and not too sweet.
